Free Web 2.0 Sites To Get Back Links And SEO Tools in 2020

You should pay special attention to this issue because it is key. We are going to see a fundamental issue when we have web projects in mind: Backlinks and their influence on SEO positioning.

What are backlinks?

Backlinks are the links that point from other websites to your page. In SEO terms, this factor is very important because for Google, a link from one website to another is like a positive "vote" towards the linked website. This very relevant question in SEO has many nuances that we are going to reel in the simplest possible way.

Starting from the base, we must know that there are two types of links that we have already discussed previously:

DoFollow links

They are the default links. DoFollow backlinks indicate to the search engine that they can follow the trace of that link, visiting the website that has been linked and giving part of their " link juice " or authority to the linked page.

NoFollow Links

They are the links where we indicate to the search engine through the HTML code that we do not want it to follow that link. Therefore, we are not giving authority to the page that we have linked.

NoFollow links allow us to combat SEO Spam. For example: years ago, SEOs set out to get quality links at all costs when searching for blogs, forums, guestbooks, and the greatest exponent of what web 2.0 is, we are talking about wikipedia. Wikipedia is one of the most authoritative pages in the world and any user could add content and links.

With the SEO boom and the knowledge that a link added value for a good web positioning, many began to include links in the articles of the world encyclopedia. This all ended when Wikipedia used the NoFollow tag for all the links included in it.

On September 10, 2019, Google announced on Twitter that the specification of the rel = nofollow changed, and two new attribute specifications were added for links:

To mark advertising: rel = ”sponsored”
For uncontrolled user content on the (third party) site: rel = ”ugc”
To deny transfer of authority voluntarily: rel = ”nofollow
    change google search console links

Being clear that quality backlinks are a key part of SEO, it is very important that we know how to surround ourselves with tools to know the current state of our website in terms of the number of pages that link it and their qualification.
How can I know the number of backlinks my page has?

To know how many links point to your page, you have multiple options that can help you. I bring you the best:

SEO SpyGlass:

The leading SEO Powersuite tool offers us "SEO Spyglass" with which we can obtain extensive information on the links that point to our page. I share a capture of it.

SEO SpyGlass from SEO Power Suite

This tool is very useful in the agency for these reasons:

Identify number of links, domains and IPs that point to your site.
    Keep track of your progress.
See the backlinks or links that you have from the main page of the sites that link you that have high authority.
Know the countries of origin of the links.
You can know the anchor text of the links, which are images, text, etc.
    Number of linked pages.
If they are Dofollow or Nofollow links.
Risk of link sanction, to know if they are quality sites or not.

And one of the most useful functionalities that we can find. With SEO Spyglass we can identify toxic links and remove them in Google Search Console to avoid penalties for Negative SEO.

OpenLinkProfiler

OpenLinkProfiler is another of the free tools with which you can obtain information about the links that point to your page. You can test it in this url.
OpenLinkProfiler.org

Current backlinks

The information it offers you is similar to SEO SpyGlass with the limitations of a free tool.
How not to lose any incoming links?

Google Alerts

Due to the great presence that Google has in the digital environment, it can control a large part of the content that is indexed in it and create notifications about the news published on search terms or keywords, a name or a specific brand through alerts of Google.

This tool is very useful to control the possible mentions made to our brand or personal name . For example: in social networks and, when we detect that someone has written about us, we only have to ask them to include a link to our website, which will generate links to our website and this will increase the domain authority of the website.

Table Of Content:

3.1 Name of the company.
3.2 Contact details.
3.3 Business category.

3.9 Post frequently on your Google My Business tab.
3.10 Display on the web page
3.11 Generate reviews: the most important thing
4 Why it is important to stand out in Google My Business.

WHAT IS GOOGLE MY BUSINESS?

Google My Business is a Google tool that places local companies and businesses “on the map”. Thanks to it, it is very likely that potential clients from our area of influence (neighborhood, town or city) will find it.

Many times, we carry out a local search and in the first positions a map appears showing the location of companies that offer what we are looking for, for example, “Mechanical workshop Valencia”. Let's imagine what would happen if we managed to position our company website organically on the first page of Google and, in addition, we also appear prominently in Google Local, we would be occupying two different positions on the first page! What do you like the idea?

But, what if our company, not even writing your commercial name, appears on the map? It is at this moment when we ask ourselves: why my competition yes and my company no? Avoiding this is very simple. You simply have to register your company in the old Google Local . Let's see how.

HOW TO REGISTER A COMPANY IN GOOGLE MY BUSINESS?

Registering a company in Google My Business is very simple . It is only necessary to have an email account (it does not even have to be from gmail.com), access Google My Business ( https://business.google.com ), register and start creating the company file . - If we already have a Gmail account, registration is not necessary. It may be that the file of our company is already created, but we need to take control of it. In this case, we must reclaim our business, and the process is exactly the same.

At the end of this process, to verify that we really are the owners of the premises or we have the authorization of the owner, we must verify the file . How? Keep reading.

First we choose how we want to receive the verification code: landline, SMS or postal mail. If you choose the latter, it will take us at least 15 days to receive it, so it is advisable to choose any of the other two means, although many times we are not given any other option.

If you allow us the option "verify through landline", which is the most comfortable, we click on the "verify" button and in a matter of seconds the phone that appears on our file will ring. An answering machine will tell us a code number. We write it in the “Verification code” box and we simply have to wait for Google My Business to  review it.

A warning . If when the Google Street View car passed by the street where our business is located, it was not yet open or there is no indicator on the façade that announces the premises, it will almost certainly not be approved. If this is the case, they will either call us requesting that we send by email a photo of the façade where the name of the company appears (sign, plaque in the directory, etc.) or we will have to contact Google My Business via form of contact and show them that it really is a real business. This is done to ensure that all of the businesses listed are real.

The tab can be updated at any time. In addition we can know for days how many times it has appeared in the search results and if someone has been interested in us, that is, they have consulted our file, thanks to the statistical data that the tool offers us. In the image we see the graph of where the clients see the company in Google, search form or map form.

SEO OPTIMIZATION TO APPEAR PROMINENTLY

But registering our business is not enough to make it appear prominently. If we do nothing, our company will be one more point on the map. To make the famous pushpin stand out, we have to optimize the tab of our local business as SEO. How? Very simple, following these recommendations:

COMPANY NAME.

It is advisable to include the keyword that identifies us, as long as it is part of the company name. If not, better not add anything else.

CONTACT DETAILS .

Address, city, telephone, e-mail, web, hours, etc.

BUSINESS CATEGORY.

We can include several, although one must be established as the main one. For example: Mediterranean food restaurant, vegetarian restaurant, home food restaurant ... This will increase our visibility in the different searches.

BRIEF COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION .

Let us explain as best as possible what services we offer, what sets us apart from other businesses, why trust us, what our values are, etc.

HOURS .

If we close at noon we can also indicate it. For a few months now, it is possible to indicate special hours. For example, if the holidays don't open, you can indicate so. Although even if you have not indicated it and it is a holiday, Google My Business warns users that it may be closed as it is a holiday, for example, on August 15.

PAYMENT METHOD ACCEPTED.

Cash, card…

INCLUDES 360 VIRTUAL TOURS.

In this way your potential clients can get a real idea of what your business is like.

PHOTOS OF THE PRODUCTS OR FACILITIES.

It is now possible to include photos of the team, the interior of the establishment and the exterior. In this way, your potential customers will get an idea of what your local is like. If it stands out for its decoration, take advantage of this option and put photos of the best possible quality and that best describe the atmosphere that is breathed in your establishment.

POST FREQUENTLY ON YOUR GOOGLE MY BUSINESS TAB.

To make it more comfortable for you, use tools like Metricool to do this.

DISPLAY ON THE WEBSITE

Add the display of your location on Google Maps to your website, either through a link or by embedding the map. It is also important that the same data is always displayed on any page or directory where the address of your company appears.

GENERATE REVIEWS: THE MOST IMPORTANT THING

And most importantly: the reviews or recommendations . Encourage your customers to write reviews, as long as they are true. It is useless, rather it would harm you, create false accounts for yourself write positive comments.

You can promote this practice by suggesting it with a sticker placed at the entrance of your establishment or by other means: commenting on it to your customers, through social networks or sending them an e-mailing.

And an important question: don't forget to thank and respond correctly to all the reviews you receive, even the ones you like least.

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO STAND OUT IN GOOGLE MY BUSINESS.

Many times, when your potential clients carry out a local search, they more easily click on the results of Google Local, because the option to call them directly appears. They can also read the reviews of other users and thus create an opinion. Hence the importance of being present in Google My Business. In addition to this, this tool also offers users other very useful and valuable information: They can, for example:

Make comments or read those of other users.
Know how to get from the point where you are.
Call directly by phone.
Check the schedule and know how much time is left for them to open or close.
See what other shops are in that area.
Or get to know other similar places.
And like most Google services, it is completely free.

Does your business already appear in Google My Business? If not, I recommend that you register as soon as possible. And if it appears but not prominently, it is a matter of getting to work and optimizing your SEO in order to achieve greater visibility and that your clients call you. Let's do it!

In it we will see how to get your blog posts to be positioned by one or more keywords in the top positions of Google quickly.

4 Essential tools to optimize an SEO article.
5 Important aspects when optimizing images
6 How to make it known so that it positions itself quickly.

DECIDE WHICH KEYWORD YOUR POST/PAGE IS TO BE OPTIMIZED

Before starting to write the post, we have to determine what keyword we intend to position.

The first point of SEO optimization is to perform an audit of the keywords that best define the service or product offered by our website or e-commerce. At this point, we will know which are the best-positioned keywords on our website, the ones that generate the most traffic, their trend and we will determine which are the keywords that can attract the most traffic to our site.

After analyzing this point, in the blog content strategy, we will define what are the keywords that we will work on in each article, according to our SEO positioning objectives.

Before continuing with the aspects to take into account, it is necessary to install the Yoast SEO plugin in our WordPress. At the end of this article, I explain why. In addition, I will mention other plugins that will help us check if we have really done a good job of SEO optimization on-page of our website.

Optimize YOUR SEO Article For SOME SEO TERMS YOU MAY NOT KNOW

Slug. This term, typical of WordPress, refers to the title of the article where blanks have been replaced by hyphens.

Friendly URL. A friendly URL is one that has a clean structure of stop words or other types of characters or numbers. For example,

https://orderherbaproducts.goherbalife.com/Catalog/Home/Index/en-IN/

OR
https://professionalwebsitedesignservi.splashthat.com/

 OR

http://bestdevelopersmumbai.wikidot.com

OR

https://mumbaibdcny.page.tl/

Stop words. They are those words that do not add value to the friendly url, for example, articles, prepositions, conjunctions, etc. Seekers ignore them.

Long Tail Keywords. They are the keywords with less competition but that will bring us a higher quality traffic, for example, "buy cheap microwave online", compared to the keyword "microwave".

H1, H2, H3 headings. They are the way to tell Google what the content of our page is about and what its hierarchy is based on its importance.

10 ASPECTS THAT WILL HELP YOU WRITE AN SEO ARTICLE

The title is the hook of any article. But in addition to knowing how to capture the interest of potential readers, it is important that the keyword we are working on appears in it, and if possible, at first. Its length must be approximately 70 characters. As we will see at the end, Yoast SEO will tell us if we have the optimized title or not.

The meta description. A good meta description will help improve the CTR of the ranked keyword, or what is the same, the chances of people clicking on your content. And this will enhance the visibility of the indexed entry. In addition, it should contain the keyword, preferably at the beginning. And its ideal length is 150 characters.

An attractive meta description will make users easily click on our results.

The url of the post. It must be short, friendly, and without words "stop". Whenever possible, it will include the term we are working on. Typically, the URL or slug are the words in the title separated by hyphens except for prepositions, articles, or other words that do not contribute.

The extension. It is said that the more extensive the better. True, but not entirely. The important thing, beyond the number of words, is the quality and originality of the post. That provides relevant, useful, and novel information for readers. And most importantly, that it is always your own content. No copying and pasting of foreign content. This, as we have seen in other articles, are prohibited practices.

The first and last paragraphs are key. Both at the beginning of the post and at its closure, it is important that the keywords are present, but changing their wording. That is, using synonyms, plurals,  long-tail keywords, etc. For example, if we are going to position “Valencia apartment rentals”, we can use terms such as “Valencia apartment rentals”, “vacation apartment rentals”, etc. in the newsroom.

The structure of the article. The content of the article must be hierarchized and structured by heading labels where the keywords also appear.

The heading tags H1, H2, H3 ... will mark the importance of the content in the eyes of Google. There must be no more than one H1 in an article. This, in most templates, is the title of the post. The H2 usually define the sections of the post, so it will be common to define several, and the H3 or H4, the subsections. It is not highly recommended or necessary to work more labels (H5, H6 ...).
Internal and external links. It is important that from the article itself links to other articles with which there is a thematic relationship or the categories of the blog or the online store that you want to promote. It is also desirable that links to external sources - other pages - of greater authority. In this case, better define the link as nofollow.

An optimal internal link structure is essential to improve SEO positioning.

Optimized multimedia content . Don't forget to add embedded images, infographics and videos to your article published on Youtube. These must be SEO optimized. How are they optimized? How to optimize a video for SEO  will be a topic that I will cover in another post. As for how to do the same with an image, in this same post you will get the answer.

Keyword density. Do not SPAM. How many times does the keyword have to be repeated throughout the article? Very simple, the moment you wonder if you are going, it is that you are doing it. Their presence must be natural, justified in the narration of the text. Thanks to the SEOquake tool we will be able to know the density of each word. My recommendation is that the density does not exceed 2%.

ESSENTIAL TOOLS TO OPTIMIZE AN SEO ARTICLE

SEO Yoast. The most famous and essential SEO plugin if you want to start optimizing your website. But beware, installing this plugin in a wordpress does not mean that the website is optimized for SEO. It is only the first step. This plugin will help you know if your post is optimized. And if not, it will tell you what you have to improve.

SEOquake. It is a free extension that you can install in your browser and that allows you to analyze the factors on page of your page and those of the competition. Yes, what you read! You will be able to know if your article is optimized based on the parameters that we have been commenting, do the same with posts from other websites that you are interested in analyzing.

Xovi Suite . Without a doubt, the most complete SEO tool I know. In addition to helping you carry out audits, it will help you to know what factors on page you should improve on your website.

IMPORTANT ASPECTS WHEN OPTIMIZING IMAGES

The size of the image. It must be the minimum possible. My advice, before uploading the image, edit it with Photoshop or any other image editing program, and save it in web version at the pixel size you really need and with the quality necessary to make it look good enough. If it is oversized it will slow down the load time and this will harm SEO and user experience.

The name of the file. Forget uploading the file with names like IMG_989.jpg. Modify it so that it describes the image. For example, if it is the photo of a squid sandwich, the file is called "sandwich-squid.jpg".

The alt attribute or alternative text.  It is the way to indicate the content of the photo to the Google spider. All images on our website must have the optimized alt attribute. To do this, simply indicate it in the image's HTML code, being descriptive, concise and with a keyword .
The caption . This will help us contextualize the image and improve its positioning in Google Images.

HOW TO MAKE IT KNOWN SO THAT IT POSITIONS ITSELF QUICKLY

Viralize content in rrssOnce optimized and published, it is key to make it known to as many readers as possible so that search engines take it into account and index it quickly. For this, we can use different tools, which, I will comment.

Dissemination on social networks. If you have a wide community of users around your blog or web on social networks, visualize it through your social profiles. Your own followers will help you spread it.

Send it to the list of subscribers to your blog.  Those who have subscribed to your newsletter are real users very interested in the content you generate. Don't let them down. Create value content and they will reward you.

Plan a campaign on Facebook Ads. To publicize your article and, why not say it, your personal brand to new readers, it is advisable to plan an advertising campaign on Facebook Ads.

Subscription. Years ago, it was possible to subscribe to the contents of a blog thanks to Google Reader. He disappeared from our lives but his space was replaced by Feedly, an excellent tool for subscribers.

Article aggregators. It is also important to publicize your content in content aggregators. Some of the best known are menéame, logs, mktfan or report me.

While writing the article, I have optimized it following point by point all the commented aspects. So, I hope it will be indexed soon as a search result for “How to Optimize an Article for SEO”. If you want to help me achieve it, you may as well share it on your social networks or leave a comment. It all adds up. And so, more people will know how to improve the search engine positioning of their website.

Does Google PageRank Count Anymore?

Does Google PageRank Count Anymore?

Titus Howkins has written this article which is eye opener for those who dont count or count Google PageRank anymore. This is what I used to say to my friends and clients that, "PageRank still counts but just not for ranking factor." Take my words. Here is the article.

"Lately Google has been doing a lot of twitching. Specifically, the rather startling news from Google Webmaster Trends Analyst Susan Moskwa that Google has ditched PageRank from Webmaster Tools.

"We've been telling people for a long time that they shouldn't focus on PageRank so much; many site owners seem to think it's the most important metric for them to track, which is simply not true," states Moskwa. "We removed it because we felt it was silly to tell people not to think about it, but then to show them the data, implying that they should look at it." (Source: WebProNews)

Now, for SEO reasons or for ranking in Google's index, PageRank has long been eunuchified by Google. However, even missing a few dangling bits, history has shown us, eunuchs still wheel tremendous power. PageRank is no different.

Regardless of what Google wants to happen, PageRank is still extremely important to anyone marketing on the web, especially if you're selling SEO services or operating a web business. Try selling SEO services when that little green bar on your site is pointing to PR0 or worst yet, pointing to a solid gray bar.

Obtaining a high PR7 or PR8 simply means more business and revenues... regardless of how Google is or is not using PageRank. People know how to count and they learned long ago, a ten is a lot more than a big fat zero.

Placed against a PR1 site, a PR8 will win more respect in the eyes of potential clients and can produce enormous profits for the site owner and we won't even mention the still widely practiced habit of selling links, which Google is desperately trying to stop. Total and full elimination of PageRank would be an honest start but it will still be an uphill, if not an unwinnable battle, for Google to fully eliminate link selling.

Even with my modest sites, I have turned down a small fortune by not selling text links on any of my sites. When I had a PR6 site instead of a PR4 - those link requests were nearly doubled. So one can easily understand Google's position and the need to downplay PageRank, if they want to put even a small dent in all this link selling and buying, which is still running rampant on today's web.

PageRank is Google's creation, and unless they remove it fully from their system and the Google toolbar, then PageRank still Counts. Actually, in the whole scheme of marketing your website on the net, PageRank counts big time. And in more ways than one.

There are several reasons why you shouldn't count PageRank out.

For years Google has been downplaying the importance of PageRank and states it's only one of about 200 ranking factors which determines how Google ranks its index for keywords. Obtaining top organic rankings for popular lucrative keywords in Google simply means money in the bank. Actually, even a movement of only one or two places on those first page SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) can make a major difference to any online marketer's bottom line.

Now while you can have a lower PR number and still rank above other higher PR pages for your chosen keywords, I have even had many times when my PR drops but my actual SERPs rankings in Google goes up, mainly due to building related relevant backlinks. So PageRank counts little towards your keyword rankings but it can't be totally dismissed.

Mainly because, even if PR is just one ranking factor, in close competitive keyword battles (I am presently fighting tooth and nail for some very choice keywords) just one ranking factor such as high PR can make the difference of whether or not you get to the top spot. Big dogs are still jumping and for those of us who know how to count, getting a number one spot in Google makes all the difference in the world.

Not only because Google controls roughly 80% of all search engine traffic, but more importantly Google has established unmatched credibility and brand recognition in the eyes of potential customers visiting your site. Web users trust Google. Web users look to Google for guidance and direction. Web users believe what Google is telling them. In the online world, rightly or wrongly, perception is everything.

As an online marketer, I am completely amazed each day at the marketing power Google now commands with web surfers and with the general population. Google is king of online search and no other search engine even comes close to Google.

PageRank is Google's ranking system, and in the eyes of those who notice these things, it still wheels tremendous influence and power. By default, PageRank is Google's opinion of your site, and web users can count (at least to 10) and if Google believes people are still not counting when it comes to PageRank, then they are fully mistaken.

Any way, everyone can be recycled and go on their own learning also depend on the professional team you have and which may support the SEO, for example, if you have computer programmers and their willingness to bear implementation of tasks on the websites, because it is essential that SEO web technologies dominate and programming languages.

But why would be ideal? Thus because as an SEO project manager having extensive knowledge about computers and web technologies, may have a broader view of the entire development process and optimization to help you be more robust decision criteria and extensive, may coordinate and ensure that optimizations of the On-Page factors in the code are the most appropriate and optimal for each problem, and above all can direct talks with some other technical equipment and expertise much more fluid.

Balancing SEO Against The Needs Of Your Article's Audience

Balancing SEO Against The Needs Of Your Article's Audience

Article marketing continues to be a proven method for generating traffic to our websites and developing good search placement, even after all of these years. I have been reading articles online since 1995, and I continue to read a few dozen articles per week on subjects that are dear to my heart.

Some Claim That Article Marketing Does Not Work

Now and again, I will read a thread in a forum somewhere where somebody claims that article marketing does not work.

Some article-marketing critics will admit that they have only distributed only one or two articles. Well yeah, I can see why article marketing did not work for them - because they did not work at making article marketing profitable for them.

Article marketing is like any other method of advertising. If you don't make a real investment in it, then you cannot reap great rewards from it.

The Marketing Rule Of Seven

Advertising professionals speak of the "Marketing Rule Of Seven," which suggests that a consumer must see your marketing message at least seven times before they start to pay attention to your message. The pros also suggest that once seven exposures have been achieved, the consumer will make a subtle, subconscious connection to the advertiser. Recognition brings rewards, in that after seven exposures to an advertisement, consumers will start to feel as if they know enough about the advertiser to trust their sales message.

If television, radio and print advertisers understand that a company's sales message must be seen or heard at least seven times, then why would you - the Internet marketer - think that you can write a single article and see the full benefit of the medium?

Successful Article Marketing Requires A Commitment To The Reader

All commerce on the Internet is driven by information, such as written sales messages and information about products and services. Some websites also benefit from generic information concerning topics that their potential clients will be interested in reading. For example, if a website sells plumbing supplies, the consumer may find the availability of information about how to remove the old fittings and how to install the new plumbing equipment, as an essential element of their purchase decision.

Article marketing when done correctly will not be a boring, blathering of search engine optimized keywords related to a product or service line.

Article marketing, when done well, will provide information that will be of real interest to the person most likely to buy what you are selling.

For example:

* If you are selling auction services, give the reader tips to help them make more money from the sale of their goods in the auction environment or how a buyer can find a good deal.

* If you are selling auto warranties, tell the reader how to uncover the best value in an auto warranty plan and what features to seek.

* If you are selling resume services, give the reader advice on how to write their own resume.

Article marketing when used well can help a company establish itself as an expert in the field, and it can help show a reader why hiring the author's service might be better than a do-it-yourself project. As an example, with the resume advice article, once the reader sees how comprehensive your knowledge is and how detailed a resume should be, the reader may just decide that using your resume writing service will be much more productive than the do-it-yourself resume.

Just Like Lawyers, Writers Specialize Too

Beyond the cost of labor, content development is usually the second most expensive expenditure made by the online vendor. It is important to note that just as there are lawyers who specialize in one area of law, there are also ghostwriters who specialize in certain types of content creation.

People who write sales copy are referred to as "copywriters." Copywriters are people who understand the nuances of how to make people buy what you are selling.

They understand that replacing a single word in the sales copy could mean the difference between lukewarm sales numbers and red-hot sales numbers, and they know which words to change.

Some professional copywriters have a proven track record of writing sales copy that has generated millions of dollars in sales - people such as Frank Kern, Dan Lok, and Joe Vitale. These guys know the value of their copywriting skills, and they charge accordingly. If you ask them to write sales copy for you, don't be surprised when they quote you a price in the range of $5-20 per written word.

Other writers might specialize in writing books, brochures, and articles. Some writers specialize in the smaller word counts, like the folks who write greeting cards and book jackets.

Finding The Best Writer For Your Needs

The kid down the street who writes part-time for the newspaper may or may not be the best person to write your online articles for you. One reason is that people who write for offline publications seldom appreciate the importance of keywords in an article for search engine marketing purposes.

Note this article for example. Our purpose is to show you how you can use article marketing as a successful marketing tool for your business. We also want to show how the articles should appeal both to the reader and the search engine algorithms.

With these thoughts in mind, when you are finished reading this article, read it a second time to see how many variations on the following SEO keyword phrases can be found in this article: article marketing, search engine marketing, keywords, advertising, content creation, writers and copywriting. Of course, copywriting is not the kind of writing we do, but people who do not understand the specialization of writing skills might type "copywriting" or "copywriters" into their favorite search engine to find someone who writes informational articles.

One never knows precisely what the public will use as their search keywords when they go to the search engine to find information. That is the very reason why a good online article writer must strive to showcase a range of similar keywords within the context of an article.

Your Article Marketing Strategies Influence Your Overall Success

We know that some people tell you that the only reason to write an article is to get a link back to your website. What most of these people don't tell you is that most websites that accept reprint articles do so, only after a human has reviewed or at least scanned the article.

An article that does not read well will never be published on a top-tier website. Yes, some websites may accept a poorly written article, but more sites will only accept well-written articles.

A reader who is not impressed with your article will seldom reach your resource box, so the link back in the resource box can only give value to your website from the search engines - maybe. The search engines generally only give value to articles on good websites or those placements that have lots of links pointing to the article within the website. Bad articles don't get published on good websites, and they do not attract links.

As the Marketing Rule Of Seven should indicate, multiple articles generate a long-term wave of new links and potential visitors to your website.

Consistency is also important to a successful article marketing campaign, in that releasing weekly articles will enable your readers to see your marketing message regularly.

Finally, the smart use of a variety of related keyword phrases will strengthen the ability of your article to appeal to the search engines and the people who use them.

If you can balance the needs of your article's audience against your need for search optimized content, then you can benefit handsomely from your article marketing campaigns.

How To Do Email Marketing - How to Make Email Marketing Works for Your Business

How To Do Email Marketing? - How to Make Email Marketing Works for Your Business?

Topic 1 ~ Your Email Subject Lines ~

How To Write A Good E-mail Subject Lines That Works?

Here are the 5 tips:

1. Ask a question. One of the best ways to get a reader's attention is to ask a question. But like a trial lawyer questioning a witness on the stand, make sure it'll get you the response you're looking for. "What's the best way to grow your business?" is a great subject line for business owners. After all, what business owner wouldn't want to grow his or her business? Or let's say you run a health club. An e-mail with the subject line, "How can you lose 5 pounds in one month?" would certainly be compelling. It's important your question be relevant to your audience.

2. Be a tease. A clever subject line can be enticing. When it's done right, reader curiosity is piqued. They want to know more--and they'll open your e-mail. Writing a teaser-style subject line requires some creativity, and your content needs to deliver. A company that sells high-definition TVs could use the subject line, "You're not going to believe your eyes" as a teaser to introduce a new addition to their product line.

3. Tell it like it is. Often, what works best is to say exactly what you want your reader to know. Examples of this straightforward approach are, "Sale on all sweaters this weekend," "Master jazz pianist plays live this Friday" and "The seven secrets of a profitable business." This just-the-facts approach works especially well when you can appeal directly to your audience's interests. It's also the best approach to use when you send a newsletter.

4. Remember "WIIFM". When a person gets your e-mail, the first thing they consider is "what's in it for me?" They have a decision to make. Do they open your e-mail, leave it for later or delete it? If there isn't something about the subject line that lets them know why it's worth their precious time to see what's inside, then the choice will be clear. Keep WIIFM in mind when creating every aspect of your e-mails, including the offer, content, images--and most definitely the subject line. It's all about them. They know that; just make sure you know it, too.

5. Get personal. The more you can make each contact feel you're speaking directly to them, the more effective your communication will be. Whatever style of subject line you use, you can make it personal by using the word "you." Professional copywriters know the secret of using this powerful little word. Just look at the advertisements, mail and e-mail you receive. A few examples are, "Find the right swimsuit for you," "You can save 50 percent on travel," and "You'd look phenomenal in a custom-tailored suit." "You" is ideal, but "your" works too.

6. Not sure which approach is right for you? Try them all, and then show a friend or colleague to get their feedback. Pick the one you believe will be most effective for your audience. Whichever approach you choose, it's always worth spending the time and effort to write a great subject line. Because if your readers don't open your e-mail, they'll never have the chance to read the important message you've created for them inside.

Topic 2 ~ Increase Click-Through Rate (CTR) ~

How to Increased Click-Through Rate (CTR)?

Here are some guidelines:

1. Include a feature, a benefit, and an advantage in the opening. This needs to be used in a subtle way, but in the opening you're really doing a small marketing job for this issue of your email newsletter. Highlight an article or two that are important, explain what you're providing the readers that they won't get elsewhere, and tell them what the benefit will be. A great example is something like "Nokia and Sprint announced second quarter earnings today. Learn what our Wireless Week experts say about the results, and what effect you can expect them to have on the industry at large."

2. Put the email newsletter in the context of your readers' day. This goes hand in hand with the last point. Your readers are busy, and if you can make a compelling case for why they should stop what they are doing and take a few minutes now to read your email newsletter, you'll get them in. We recommend editors reference important events, upcoming trade shows, or other things that say to the reader "You will find it worthwhile to stop and read this email newsletter now, because the information in it will help you stay on top of your business."

3. Keep it fresh. Don't craft a "perfect paragraph" and use it issue after issue after issue. One of the keys to success is to keep the copy fresh and highlight items in that issue of the email newsletter. If you use the same generic language repeatedly, people will stop reading it and it'll be a waste of your time.

4. Keep it short. This is critical. We recommend no more than two to three sentences -- just enough to get them interested and pull them in to read the rest of your email newsletter.

Try it out and see the results! This is just one of the simple things you can do to engage your reader and optimize your CTR.

Topic 3 ~ Killer Email Sales Letter ~

How to Write Killer Email Sales Letter That Get Results?

Here are what we've found works best. Use these tips properly and your results will skyrocket.

1. Your email "from" sender line should be your brand name or company name and stay consistent. Use your own personal name only if that is your brand image.

2. Send emails only when you have something to say that will benefit the reader. No fluff. No filler. You must be relevant. If you can't be, don't send an email until you have something beneficial to say.

3. Start your emails with the specific benefit the reader can get from your message. You have no more than 3 seconds to pass the crucial "what's in it for me?" test.

4. The copywriting tone and language should be personal and conversational, instead of stuffy and "corporate".

5. Make a specific offer to the reader and, if possible, include a short deadline by which he must respond to get it.

6. Use as much copy as is needed to fully pile on all the benefits the reader will get by ordering, answer objections, create urgency, and close the sale.

7. Test your subject lines and offers on small segments of your list before you send the email to your entire list.

8. Include "Email this to a friend" service in all your communications for pass along and viral marketing.

Topic 4 ~ Good Call-to-Action ~

Get More Clicks With a Good Call-to-Action!

The call-to-action is a determining factor of your click-through rate. It is an important component of your email copy because it answers three important questions for the recipient. They are:

1. What you want them to do

2. Why they should do it, and

3. How to take that next step.

Whatever action you want your recipients to take, you can make it happen more often with a good call-to-action. First, decide what you want them to do:

1. Buy something

2. Sign up for a service

3. Fill out a form

4. Read an article or get more information

5. Visit your website or store

6. Make an appointment

Etc…

Then, make sure you incorporate these 6 characteristics to get the results you're looking for. Make your call-to action:

1. Visible - People read, react, make decisions and take action differently. Some make decisions right away ("You had me at hello.") and some need more details ("I'm from Missouri."). Place call-to-action links in the beginning, middle and end of the email so that recipients can click whenever they are ready.

2. Clear - Stick to simple words, short phrases, bulleted benefits and paragraphs of 1-3 short sentences. Include appropriate graphics and cut the clutter by making effective use of white space.

3. Compelling - Use action-oriented verbs and phrases: "buy now," "call today," "save" and so on.

4. Rewarding - Offer an incentive or reward for action. For example, "Act now and also receives...," or "the First 100 respondents will be entered into a raffle to win..." The giveaway, or prize, you choose should be closely related to your product or service. That way, you will be targeting customers who are interested in what you have to offer, not just the latest gadget.

5. Urgent - The longer an email sits in an inbox, the less likely it is to be acted on. Create a sense of urgency to get a more immediate response. Try limiting the offer to a specific time period, to the "first 50 customers," "while supplies last," etc.

6. Direct - Your call-to-action links should go to the appropriate page on your website with more details on the specific product or service you're promoting. If you don't have a website, the call-to-action might be store locations to visit or a number to call for an appointment.

Keep in mind that, in addition to repeating your call-to-action, you can vary your call-to-action to appeal to different types of buyers (and to fit your sales cycle). For example: "Click here to buy now" will naturally work better with loyal customers. The softer, "Click here to learn more" may be better for newer prospects.

Topic 5 ~ Avoid Common Pitfalls ~

Read Your Email Message Backwards to Avoid Common Pitfalls

Here are some common problems to look out for:

1. Misspelled words - It's a good idea to spell-check a document, but it's not enough. A spell checker won't catch every error.

2. Wrong word used - This is why a spell checker isn't enough. A spell checker will only flag words it doesn't recognize. It can't tell if a legitimate word is used incorrectly. Some words commonly confused: accept, except; your, you're; then, than; there, their, they're; cite, site, sight; lay, lie; loose, loosen, lose. Also, look out for a missing "r" in the word "your." It's easy to overlook a sentence such as "Visit our Web site now to receive you free copy."

3. Grammar error - Again, if you know you're not a good writer, have someone else check your writing for grammatical errors. Mistakes make you look bad.

4. Punctuation error - This is another area where you'll benefit from a review by someone who knows their stuff. If you're determined to do it yourself, purchase a good grammar or style book. One of the most common punctuation problems: Too many stupid commas!

5. Vague or confusing statement - Make sure every sentence is crystal-clear. You don't want your promotional message to raise more questions than it answers.

6. Illogical statement - Read over what you have written slowly. At the end of each paragraph, ask yourself: "Did that make sense?" Rewrite so that it does.

Topic 6 ~ Frequency of Sending Emails ~

How Often (Frequency) Should You Send Email?

There's no quick answer to the frequency question. It depends on the goals for your email and the type of content you send. Some rough guidelines:

1. Mail at least once a month. Mail less often than this, and you risk being forgotten by recipients. Monthly is the bare minimum if you want to keep your brand or company name top of mind (a common email goal).

2. Let content be your guide. Look at what you provide readers and you'll get a feel for proper frequency. Analyze how often the information changes and how quickly readers must receive it to act on it.

3. Work within your resources. A daily email requires many more resources than a monthly. Better a well-done monthly email than shoddy weekly or daily. It's recommended to start with a monthly. Once that's going smoothly, they can think about moving to weekly. You need to walk before you can run!

4. Watch for trends. Declining response, open, and click-through rates can be signs of list fatigue. Though some decrease is normal, watch carefully and cut back frequency if you see a problem. Don't assume if the unsubscribe rate is stable you're OK. Many people prefer to forward email directly to their delete folder rather than unsubscribe.

Topic 7 ~ Understanding Spam Filters ~

Understanding Spam Filters to Avoid Your Emails Get Junked!

If you send email campaigns long enough, you will inevitably run into spam filter issues. On average, you can expect 10-20% of your emails to just get lost in cyberspace, mostly due to overzealous spam filters. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix. If you want to avoid getting your emails junked by spam filters, you have to understand how they work.

Generally speaking, spam filters look at a long list of criteria to judge whether or not your email is junk. For example, they might look for spammy phrases like "CLICK HERE!" or "FREE! BUY NOW!". They'll assign points each time they see one of those phrases. Certain criteria get more points than others. Here's a sample of criteria from Spam Assassin, one of the most popular spam filters out there:

• Talks about lots of money (.193 points)

• Describes some sort of breakthrough (.232 points)

• Looks like mortgage pitch (.297 points)

• Contains urgent matter (.288 points)

• Money back guarantee (2.051 points)

• Why Pay More? (1.249 points)

It's easy to use "spammy" keywords in your email without even knowing it. Here are some common ways marketers unwittingly trigger spam filters with their campaigns:

1. Using spammy phrases, like "Click here!" or "Once in a lifetime opportunity!" too many times in your email. Sometimes, you can't avoid phrases like "FREE SHIPPING!" but use them sparingly, and don't do anything else risky.

2. Going crazy with exclamation points!!!!!!

3. USING ALL CAPS, WHICH IS LIKE YELLING IN EMAIL

4. Coloring their fonts bright red, or green

5. Coding sloppy HTML (such as by converting a Microsoft Word file to HTML)

6. Creating an HTML email that's nothing but one big image, with no text (since spam filters can't read images, they assume you're a spammer that's trying to trick 'em)

7. Using the word "Test" in the subject line (agencies run into this all the time, when sending drafts to clients for approval)

Topic 8 ~ Why Email Marketing Does not Work? ~

If Your Email Marketing Does not Work, Think Again Why?

Before you arrive at the faulty conclusion that email marketing doesn't work, let’s look at this from a different perspective for a moment that would make your emails ineffective.

First there's what you are writing in the body of the email. If this is your first attempt to get in touch with a prospect, what are you putting in the email? A dissertation? If it's longer than one or two paragraphs, it's too long. Look at your emails like an initial cold call. You need to laser in and deliver a compelling opening statement that's going to grab their interest and stimulate a conversation. Because there's no one to cut you off in an email or stop you from persistent pontification, people have tendency to ramble on and on in an email, giving the prospect the life story of the product or service they want them to consider. Keep it short and focus on the one or two benefits, opening up the opportunity to have a dialogue. That's it.

Second, are you sending attachments in the first email? No attachments! It's hard enough sending an unsolicited email to a prospect. Now you're adding more barriers and increasing the chances of your email winding up in their spam box or junk email folder. Some people have filters on their email that if an attachment is sent it automatically gets deleted. No attachment until that information in the attachment is solicited by the person.

Third, html or text? Once again, with all the email filters people use today, you will increase your odds by sending a text message only rather than trying to get fancy with formatting, graphics and pictures. The prospect really doesn't care about how beautiful your email looks; they care about the core message. Besides, they will never even get a chance to see your beautiful masterpiece in an html email if it's winding up in the trash.

Finally, you are using way too many spam words. As mentioned, the biggest enemy to email marketing or selling via email is the additional security that companies and individuals have on their network or computer. As such, the specific words you are using in the body of the email can be the culprit who is sending your email directly into the trash or spam box. In other words, you are using words that are often identified is spam and in turn, you email is getting flagged and deleted. Not even eye contact! The prospect is not getting a chance to, at the very least, see your email let alone read it and have a chance to respond accordingly.

Big Bang - I have joined it too....

You do not have to be tagged to play along. This game is simple and so are the rules.

  1. Copy from *Start Copy Here* through *End Copy Here*
  2. Add your site(s) to the list. Just be sure to post at each site you add.
  3. Tag or don’t tag, your choice, however, the more tags you create the bigger the list will grow.
